National Society for Leadership and Success (NSLS)

 

If you have been at SNHU for some time and have completed a minimum of 6 courses (18 credits), you may have received an email invite to join the National Society for Leadership and Success (NSLS). You may be wondering what that is and why you have received this invitation.

Please know that if you received an invitation to join NSLS, you should be so proud of yourself, as am I!  You are being invited to join one of the largest honor societies for college students! Guess what? You are joining a community of more than 2 million members across the country. You can't just join NSLS, you must be invited, so this is a HUGE deal! If you received this invitation, congratulations, and please make sure to accept the invite!

NSLS offers students leadership training, scholarships, speaker events, and career benefits. Including in your resume that you're a  member of NSLS will look good.

Membership criteria for undergraduate students

  • Must be an online student in a course-based program

  • Must have completed at least 18 credit hours at SNHU

  • Must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale

  • Membership is for life

  • Eligibility determined on Jan. 7, 2026

  • Invitations sent Jan. 28, 2026

  • Deadline to accept invitation is March 2, 2026

  • Cost to join the NSLS is $95, plus applicable shipping, payable by credit card

 

Required steps to complete induction

To be recognized as a fully inducted member, students must complete the following induction steps. All steps may be completed online:

  • Complete the NSLS orientation

  • Watch the leadership training video

  • Complete speaker broadcasts

  • Participate in Success Networking Teams (SNTs) meetings

PSI CHI​

What is Psi Chi? It is the International Honor Society in Psychology. With over 900,000 lifetime members and 1,100 chapters worldwide, the society recognizes students who demonstrate excellence in academic achievement and a strong commitment to the field. Please note that membership is exclusive; similar to the NSLS, students may only join after receiving a formal invitation.

Benefits of Joining PSI CHI 

  • Lifetime recognition for their achievements, along with access to exclusive publications, career resources, and a global network of psychology scholars.

  • Opportunities to apply for research grants, scholarships, and awards.

  • Can present research, attend regional and national conferences, and publish work in Psi Chi journals, gaining valuable hands-on experience.

Invitation schedule ​

  • Eligible students will be invited via email every spring and given instructions on next steps.

​

Membership criteria for undergraduate students

  • A one-time payment of $60 to become a lifetime member

  • Be enrolled for a major or minor in psychology or a program psychological in nature (e.g., Bachelor's in Human Services or Sociology).

  • Have completed at least 45 credit hours full-time college coursework.

  • Have completed at least 9 credit hours or equivalent of psychology courses.

  • Must have a minimum cumulative 3.3 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

  • Have a minimum 3.0 GPA average for psychology courses.

  • Only the top 20% of eligible students who have met the above criteria will be invited on a predetermined date each year.
